Core Feature: Self-Destructing Notes
The fundamental feature of Privnote is the self-destructing note. Every note created on Privnote is designed to be read exactly once. After the recipient opens the note, it is permanently and irreversibly deleted from Privnote's servers. The link becomes invalid. No copy remains anywhere in Privnote's infrastructure.
This is not simply a "delete after reading" feature in the conventional sense. The deletion is architectural — the system is built so that notes cannot persist. There is no recycle bin, no archive, no backup that retains the note content after it has been read.
The self-destruction happens server-side the moment the note is first accessed. From the recipient's perspective, they see the message displayed in their browser. From the server's perspective, the note is simultaneously being deleted. By the time the recipient finishes reading, the note no longer exists on the server.

Password-Protected Notes
Add a custom password to your note for an additional layer of security. The recipient must enter the correct password before the note is displayed. The password is used as an additional encryption key, meaning even Privnote's servers cannot read the note without it.
Flexible Expiration Timers
Notes self-destruct after reading by default, but you can also set time-based expiration. Choose from 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. If the note is not read within the specified time, it is automatically deleted — even if never opened.
Read Notifications
Receive an email notification the moment your note is opened and destroyed. This serves as a delivery confirmation and can help detect unauthorized access. Pair with a reference name to track multiple notes.
Zero Registration Required
Privnote requires no account, no email address, and no personal information to use. You can create and share notes in complete anonymity. The only time you provide an email is if you choose to enable destruction notifications.
